The King of New Meadows eats better breakfast than the King of Sweden

I am really lazy doing this blog. Dont know why.
We are in the middle of the winter. The sun is up over the horisont more and more every day.
We got plenty of snow. Down in our village it´s about 40-50 cm but you dont have to go so far when you meet about 1 meter.
This winter is unusual mild. We have got -17 as coldest temperature so far

Today it was time to try something new. Panncaces made of quaileggs.
have nagging Marit about that since she bougth the first quails, but have not be allowed until now.

 The eggs are wery small so I could not made so many panncaces as I wanted. There was also a counter problem. The eggs wight is only 12 gram and a normal henegg is about 70 gram

 I am pretty sure the king of Sweden never have eaten quaileggs for breakfast. (guess he only eats them in Nobel dinners or so)
With a litre of milk and 3 panncaces it was a good  breakfast for the King of New Meadows.

looong time ago

Havent got the time to blog for a long time. Just been working and working and working almost all days and nights since Svalbard.

Havent got the time to fix the hey for the sheeps, so I have sold almost all of them. Next winter we will have only a cupple. Sad but necessary.

On this pic Niklas (Marits son) Marie and Wiggo their son. I am almost a grandpa (I am Karlsson on the roof

Me and this little fellow  will have a good time in a year or two. Have already bought him a tractor and a baler and next summer there will be a quad and a motorcykle (-:

Wish I got the same energy as this little fellows

 At least a got a new tractor. IH 84H. Much easyer to trive than the old one, and heat in the cab. Will be good next winter

Time for the lawn again

Så var det dax att göra nåt åt gräsmattan som vi grävde sönder i vintras. Köpte den här jordfräsen förra veckan. Mesta av jobbet gör jag naturligtvis med traktorn, men den här lilla manicken är bra att ha på dom svåråtkomliga ställena. Delar av marken är fortfarande väldigt blöta så jag får dela upp jobbet i etapper så det hinner torka efterhand.

Vi har mycket vi ska hinna med innan vi åker till Svalbard, så kvällarna blir fyllda med arbete. Tillsammans med gräsmattan har vi flyttat fåren till sommarbetet, planterat buskar och blommor och planterat tomater och gurka i växthuset. Nu återstår bara trägårdslandet med morötter, potatis och annat gott. Tur att vädret är bra.

If you dont now what to do in easter I can give you some examples.

Digging mud is pretty funnie so I did it twice

At the firs time I got it up again, but not the second. Just to wait for my friend with the backhoe. Pretty funny in easter.

Just tried to fix the lawn after our geothermal digging in mars. Maybe I would be waiting until the ground was dry  :-)

If you dont think digging mud is funny you can help your motherinlaw with her firewood. At least she is glad .

But the best is spending some time with these little bugs

Spended a cupple of ours with our bee teacher looking in a hive. They just woken up from their wintersleep, and started to work at once.

After midsummer we got our own bees, and that will be exciting.

Time for springtime work

Att våren är här har väl inte undgått någon. men bara 10 km från vårt hus är det fortfarande väldigt mycket snö kvar. Här uppe på höjderna kommer alltid våren några veckor senare 

Vägen var väldigt lerig och jag var glad att jag inte hade sommardäcken på

Som vanligt är fårklippning en av vårens sysslor. Våra får blev inte klippta i höstas, jag tyckte att det var alldeles för kallt när det var dax

Så nu hade dom ordentligt tjock päls och var dubbelt så jobbiga att klippa. Dom kommer i vanlig ordning att se för djäkliga ut några veckor framöver.

Vi har haft nåt mystiskt främmande hos hönsen. Något djur har varit in och stulit alla våra 17 kycklingar. Satte ut fällor i förrgår och fick en stor råtta i en av dom i går. Troligen den som har orsakat förödelsen. men vi har flera kycklingar på gång och jag hoppas att jag har fångat fler råttor innan dom släpps ut.
