Time for springtime work

Att våren är här har väl inte undgått någon. men bara 10 km från vårt hus är det fortfarande väldigt mycket snö kvar. Här uppe på höjderna kommer alltid våren några veckor senare 

Vägen var väldigt lerig och jag var glad att jag inte hade sommardäcken på

Som vanligt är fårklippning en av vårens sysslor. Våra får blev inte klippta i höstas, jag tyckte att det var alldeles för kallt när det var dax

Så nu hade dom ordentligt tjock päls och var dubbelt så jobbiga att klippa. Dom kommer i vanlig ordning att se för djäkliga ut några veckor framöver.

Vi har haft nåt mystiskt främmande hos hönsen. Något djur har varit in och stulit alla våra 17 kycklingar. Satte ut fällor i förrgår och fick en stor råtta i en av dom i går. Troligen den som har orsakat förödelsen. men vi har flera kycklingar på gång och jag hoppas att jag har fångat fler råttor innan dom släpps ut.

this day, a lifetime

Both Marit and me likes like surprices, and oftenly we dont planning so well for things.

Life will go like it goes.
Today it was open house, and we expected 10 maybe 15 persons. We have decided to offer them some coffe and lemonade after their tour on our farm.
I went to the car parking to show them the way to the sheeps pasture, but I never understood how many there was.



Marit realized when she saw the crowd...

There was more than 60 pepole arrived at 11!!!!

 Well, there was nothing to do, except boiling some more coffe.
A little bit difficult to explain sheepfarming for everybody, but the kids get a good time, and thats the main thing.
It´s sad that kids grown up today thinking milk comes from the refridgerator in the store, and meet is the flat thick thing on a Mac Donalds burger.

As many as possible got the opportunity to cuddle with a lambs and eves.
After a half our or so, most of the eves thought it was boring with all the pepole and went in to the barn,lay down starting to ruminate. Show was over in ther point of viev

 And we made more coffe

 Then it was showtime for the chickens. Most of the kids (and adults) have never se a chicken, not even on tv.
Think it was a great day for all of us

After the show, we went to the hospital 1 our away to welcome our new familymember. Marit is a proud grandma and was realy exited to meet her first grandchild

Off curse the little boy would like to test my arms also.
Will sing lullabys and telling fairytales for this one for at least 10 years

in sweden there is a famous story about a little boy and "The best Karlsson in the world"

Karlsson is a "moderat fat man in his prime" and he does a lot of fun (he thinks)

My new favorite

Just found out my new favorite beer. The name in english is "RAM BEER".

 Just a product in my way (-:

Today it´s "open house" on our little farm.

We will show farming in the "small way" and think our new born lambs and chickens will be a succes

We made a program toghether with our local tourist agency and we hope there will be a lot of kids and their parents coming visit us..

Last evening Marit become a grandma. Her son Niklas and his girlfriend Marie got a son.

never thougt I will spend my life with a grandma...

I am getting old..

Busy weekend

This weekend it was time for the plumber to do his job. This is the old equipment. I am really glad to get rid of it. Have spended too much time bucking wood.Took us the whole saturday to move the old one outside and get the new inside

And off curse we got a lot of lambs, just when I dont have the time to take care of them. Lucky me who got Marit. She spended the weekend with the eves and lambs. Think we got 13 in a cupple of days. Here are some unique pictures who Marit take. It´s not often we have the oppurtunity to see when they get their lambs. This one is just a cupple of minutes old, and if you look closely to the grey eve can you se se will get one any second.You can se more of it in her own blog
Still have 6 eves who got no lambs yet.

Last smoke in our chimnery

This is probobly the last smoke in our chimery for a long while. In the end of the week there will be geothermal heating of the house. Pretty expensive but it feels good not be able to woodbucking this year. Off curse I will have some wood for the big waterboiler and some barbercue, but thats not the same way.


 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Our garden house is waiting for summer. Guess Marit will have some tomatoes and cucumber there. It´s our first season with gardenhouse so it will be exciting

Today is the last day of digging the pipes. Wounder if there will be a lawn here again.
Have to plow and harrow this summer so we will se next year how it works out.

As you can see it´s still a lot of snow. Hope we get rid of it in the beginning of april so we can start our springtime work early
