Springtime, (even if you dont belive)

This week we got cold, 30 below almost every night and wounderful sunshine every day. 

Yesterday morning when I was feeding the sheeps, one of the ewes just stopped outside the door to the barn and looked backwards. I understood there was a lamb inside.

So I jumped over the fence to go inside and take a look.

There was 3 lambs!!! never got so many from the same ewe before.

But just this morning it was -32 degrees and cold as....

One of the lambs was already ded, and one was just between ded or alive. The third was lively and was already jumping around.

So I started to try keep the second little fellow alive, giving it some extra food, and get it up on her feets.

For a while during the afternoon it semed to be a success, but late in the evening it was ded.

Thats life being a farmer. You cant always be sucessed in your fight with the nature

 Off curse there is time for some chickens. Put some eggs in the incubator and in 21 days we will see the result.

Some job to preparing the behives. Seems to be a busy springtime this year...



long lazy winter

Every winter I got really lazy. Just reading books and other smaller things. But in the beginning of february, when the days are getting longer my mind wakes up and suddenly I want to do things again.

Today we got our first order of our beekeeper stuff. We orderd some cloths and other things. We also orderd a cupple of behives. Hopefulle we also got some bees, but they will arrive when we are back from Svalbard.

We spended this winter with teoretic studies of the small insects, and how to be a god beekeeper. I have already made some stuff to the be behives such as frames and so.

This winter seems to be the longest, and one of the coldest I can remember. Since nov 7 we got cold wether every day, except two days in the middle of january. Worst was in december.

Yesterday we got a blizzard, and this morning we got about 60 cm snow on our road. And too cold to get the tractor started. Guess who got som exercise with the snow shovel a 5.30 pm.

If it´s thrue what the older pepole says, that winter always ends in easter I will be a bear next autumn, just go to sleep and be in that condition until the end of april

A Perfect Dinner

We spended Twelf night at Hotel Knaust in the city of Sundsvall, one of the most famous hotels in our country.

It´s famous becuse of this trap. The legend tells that one of the timber purchases who lived in the 1890´s riding his horse upstairs after a wet evening.

Thrue is that it was a place of the rich pepole in that time, and there was lot of partys.

Young ms Norgren and me complements each other. She love cooking and I love eating.

This time she won a gift card and decided to invite me to a special dinner on a resturant in town. 

 And I decided to invite her to this hotel so we could stay over the night. We arrived at 15.00 and relaxed with a glass of champange (and a beer of curse) before our dinner

 

 In the evening it was time for the dinner

 Fried potatoes and a fillet of beef. Looks so beutiful on the plate
And tasted excellent. To drink we have a bottle of red wine

The dessert was panna cotta with cloudberrys.
And the final was coffee, brandy and Bailys liqueur
 

After all this food we were not shure if we dried go back to the hotel..

And thanks to Marits gift card it was not expensive. Just payed 113 kr for two meals worth 1113 kr

 On our way back to the hotel it was snowing a lot

After one our of relaxing at the hotel we went to a pub. The plan was to have some beers or a drink but both of us was so measured of the food, that we dicided to go back to the hotelroom after only one beer.

Next morning we looked forward to the hotel breakfast. And we were not dissapointed.

There was everything for a good start of the day.

Of curese there was sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs.

A great journey with my best friend and loved

(keep feedning me like this I am sure my weight is 100 kg in springtime...)

Winterbirds

Amazing that these fellows can survive the winter. Off curse we helps them a lot with food, but I guess they survived anyway
